North Carolina - Blue Jay Point Park / MST

This event is hosted by Girls Who Hike North Carolina Ambassador Heather Burns!

TRAIL NAME: Falls Lake Trail, Falls Lake MST Section #6
TOTAL DISTANCE: 6.0 miles/out and back
TRAIL NFO: https://mountainstoseatrail.org/the-trail/segments/falls-lake-day-hikes/fallslake-dayhike-6/

Join me and GWHNC for a beautiful hike in Blue Jay Point Park! This is a nice, moderate day hike on this section of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. A popular hike because of its location in this environmentally-focused Wake County park. The entire hike will run along Falls Lake, which is great for bird watching too. There are also plenty of benches to stop and take in the sights or to have a snack… thanks to Eagle Scout projects!

Let's meet at the ball field parking lot… pass the education center on your left, heading toward the Lodge. It’s a small parking lot on the right before you get to the Lodge. (If you drive up to the Lodge and it's parking lot, you have gone too far!). We will start mid trail, go north to Six Forks Rd., turn around, and go the opposite way to the south end of the trail at Six Forks Rd. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the hike time. We will leave from the parking lot promptly at 10:00 am!

Make sure you bring water and a snack.
