There was no official address for the winter parking lot but the address given should be very close to the lot. I believe the lot should be easy to find. Please note the main entrance is closed during the winter and you will not be able to get into the park through that entrance. Please ask any additional questions if you have them and I hope to see you there!

New Glarus Woods 
Trail Rating: Moderate
Date: Sunday, Oct. 14
Time: Meet in the parking lot at 10:15 a.m. Please plan to arrive on time so we can begin hiking by 10:30
Water Required: 1 liter

We will be hiking approximately 4+ miles according to the attached map if we take the green trail. https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/ngwoods/pdfs/newglarusmap.pdf

Plan to meet in the large parking lot right past the entrance because it looks the largest on the map! 

Please keep in mind that this is a WI fee are and admission to the parking lot is $8 daily or $28 annually (for WI plates). Plan (dress) accordingly for the weather and bring some water. *Conditions may be muddy this time of year so please keep that in mind

Congdon Park
Trail Rating: Super Easy
Date: Thursday, Sept. 20
Time: Meet in the parking lot at 4:30 p.m. (or anytime after to catch us on another loop around!)
Water Required: 1 liter

This is a super easy hike around the lake. We will be doing multiple times around and also be supporting the Congdon Gardens Walk and Wine event that runs from 5-7 p.m. This is their bi-annual fundraiser for the park, so bring a small donation if you like (not required) and have a glass of wine and snacks. It's almost the end of the work week, so if you live close please come join us!!

To complete these hikes, I highly recommend bringing electrolytes, snacks, container that holds at least 2 L of water, and your 10 essentials

Since we’ll be at a high altitude, please make sure you bring aspirin or another headache soother, electrolytes, extra water, and I recommend bringing something to help you with nausea – you never know!

Trail Rating: This is a green hike on the GWH scale – HOWEVER, It is approximately 5-10 miles with significant elevation gain (peak is 1923')

Wisconsin - McMiller Trails

Rain rain stay away so we can hike McMiller on this day!! We will be heading out for a minimum of 5 miles on the McMiller Trail system. (If the weather and trail conditions are good we could possibly hike to Stute Springs and back on the purple loop)

If you look at this map just below the State Forest Headquarters is an icon for the McMiller Range. The parking lot is on the left before you get to the range. And, not to worry, we are hiking the other way, and the shooting range is all contained and it's safe! I hike in this area all the time!

Difficulty Level - Intermediate (there's some good hills on this trail!)

Plan to arrive by 10:30 a.m. so that we can begin hiking by 10:45. (Please, please try to arrive on time. We plan on leaving by the posted time!)

Please keep in mind that this is a WI fee are and admission to the parking lot is $8 daily or $28 annually (for WI plates). Plan (dress) accordingly for the weather and bring some water. *Conditions may be muddy this time of year so please keep that in mind

Wisconsin - Lake Geneva Shore Path

Join us for this 21+ mile bucket list hike around Lake Geneva!! We will be meeting around 7:30 at a location TBD in Lake Geneva and on the path by no later than 8:00 am. We will be hiking towards Big Foot Beach and then the South Shore section to Fontana. In Fontana we will break for lunch at a local eatery or you can bring your own lunch and relax in the park. From Fontana we will head back out and continue along the North Shore to end in Lake Geneva. At the end of the hike we will have a special celebration with some giveaways and a raffle. 

This hike will be hosted by Girls Who Hike Ambassador Heidi Schulz

**PLEASE do not sign up for this hike if you aren't ready to spend approximately 9 hours hiking the 21+ miles around the lake. This will be a faster paced hike due to the number of miles we have to cover so we will be staying together as a group. This hike is limited to 22 attendees and we will be sticking to that.
