a) have not violated the attendance policy,
b) have previously attended GWHWA events,
c) are experienced with difficult/strenuous hikes,
d) are training for a difficult summit (Mount St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, etc.)

Once a ticket is released to you, you will only have 24 hours to accept the ticket before it is released to the next member. You will be asked to enter the word watermelon as the pass code for registration, and you will be placed on the waitlist.

NEW Date: Saturday, March 16, 2019
Time: Meet at the Little Si Trailhead at 9:00 AM

Distance: 4.7 miles, roundtrip

WTA Link: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/little-si

Water Required: Yes, 2-3L minimum, per person/animal
Gear: Hiking boots required. It will likely be cool and wet, so warm clothing (no cotton), rain jacket, and an extra pair of socks will be a good idea. There is a chance that the summit may have ice, a dusting of snow, and/or slick rocks from rain, so hiking poles and some kind of traction for shoes (yaktrax or microspikes) may be helpful, but not required.
Other: You should bring some snacks to munch on throughout the hike or during breaks. Protein bars, granola, trail mix, energy gels/chews are recommended.

Dogs: Allowed; must be on leash. May not be suitable for pups
Kids: If you are confident in their ability to hike on a trail of this magnitude, they are welcome! **Trail may be too steep for little legs towards the summit**
Men: If you must! ;)

Pacing: We will stay together as a group for this hike, so pacing will be determined as a group! Ideally we should be done by 12:30 PM, but please be flexible. *NOTE: If you plan to separate from the group, you must check out with me before leaving!

Permits / Passes: Discover Pass - You must have a Discover Pass before showing up to the parking area, as there is no guarantee that day passes are available at the trailhead

Trailhead Coordinates / Address: 47.4878, -121.7563
Traveling on I-90 East, approaching North Bend, take exit for 436th Ave SE and turn left. Head 0.5 miles on 436 Ave SE and take a left on SE North Bend Way. Proceed 0.3 miles and turn right on SE Mount Si Road. The main parking lot for Little Si will be 0.4 miles on your left as the road straightens out after the bend (if you pass 439 Pl SE or 440 PL SE, you have driven too far).

There is an overflow parking lot west of the main lot tucked into SE Mt Si Rd and 434 Ave SE. There is a trail connecting the two. Be warned that both lots may be full on weekends.

Little Si
Trail Rating: YELLOW: Moderate hike, well-signed, elevation gain of between 1,000-2,000ft., low altitude. Novice hikers welcome! 2-3L of water required.

Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019
Time: Meet at the Little Si Trailhead at 9:00 AM

Distance: 4.7 miles, roundtrip
Elevation Gain: 1,300 feet (highest point: 1,550 feet)

CANCELLED - Washington - Lime Kiln Trail

Unfortunately this hike has been cancelled. We hope to see you on the trails soon!

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador Chelsea Elwell!

Plan on hiking at a slow-medium pace, with plenty of breaks for pictures! This is an easy hike, with minimal elevation gain. Great for new hikers or those who just prefer easier trails! I am recovering from two abdominal surgeries in the last 7 months, so I am not in a hurry. We will hike as a group and no one will be left behind. Make sure your camera is fully charged- this is a gorgeous hike with lots of history and fun things to see!

There is plenty of parking at the trailhead (no pass required). The Lake Stevens Transit Center is only about 25 minutes away and a good spot to pick up for carpooling. Please let me know if you need a ride below. I can fit three passengers comfortably.

We can plan to grab a bite to eat in Granite Falls or Lake Stevens after the hike, for those who are interested!

If you are a registered member and have your punch card, don’t forget to bring it so I can initial it!

Washington - Wallace Falls

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador, Carolynn!
I'm one of your new ambassadors for 2019. I started hiking when I was in college and have used it as a tool to help me in my weight loss journey (70 pounds down so far!). I love introducing people to hiking and want to encourage anyone who is hesitant to get outside to just come. It's incredibly rewarding! And if you're a novice and experienced hiker, please come too!

If you are a registered member and have your punch card, don’t forget to bring it so I can initial it!
