"Q. What is the easiest trail?
A. Contrary to printed information, the Boulevard Trail is not the easiest trail to the lodge. It is the longest trail and it is continuously descending and climbing with the last 1 1/2 mile of 800 ft. elevation gain. Some people feel that the Trillium Gap trail (6.7 miles) is the easiest trail to the lodge as this is the trail the llamas use to bring supplies three times a week and it is not as steep as the other trails. This is a difficult hike, intended for experienced hikers. This is a great hike for those training for Half Dome or Whitney this year.

As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups.

Please bring at least 3L of water or water filter, appropriate footwear, sunscreen, and adequate food for this trip. At this time (05/19) there is still snow in this area, however the snow is melting quickly and should be mostly gone by the time of the event. We will be keeping an eye on conditions. It may be a good idea to have YakTrax/microspikes handy just in case. More details will be provided closer to the event.
