Three Farms Trail, Antietam National Battlefield (we'll mostly be following this trail, with a few small variations, as an out and back hike)

Join us for a moderate hike at Catoctin Mountain Park in northern Frederick County, followed by an evening at Springfield Manor Winery Distillery Brewery https://www.springfieldmanor.com/ (completely optional, come for one or both). We’ll begin at the Thurmont Vista Parking Area (the second parking lot past the Visitor Center) and will take the Thurmont Vista Loop Trail, adding Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock as an out-and-back onto the loop, before taking the loop trail back to the parking area. After our hike, those who would like can drive 10 minutes south on Route 15 to Springfield Manor Winery Distillery Brewery. Kerensa Gray is providing live music from 6-9pm (no cover charge). Wine, spirits and beer are available for tastings ($) or by the glass/bottle ($) and a small plate menu is available ($). There may also be a food truck on site. Outside food is not permitted.

It includes a hike through a hemlock-laurel canyon, stream crossings on footbridges and a waterfall. Does it get any better than that?! The first 10 attendees to arrive will receive a special Girls Who Hike giveaway. Be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks for this hike!

Hey ladies! I’m looking forward to this hike at Gambrill State Park! I will update you with more information leading up to the hike via this Facebook Event, so keep an eye out for posts! Leave the guys and kids at home for this event, please, but you're welcome to bring dogs as long as they are on a leash. :) We’ll think of this as a “Solo Sunday” hike. Early arrival is recommended as parking is somewhat limited and there's a box in the parking lot to deposit your park fee. $3/vehicle for in state and $5/vehicle for out of state. Pack plenty of water and some trail snacks - it's a long one!
