Kansas - Veterans Pond Trail

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador Willow Smith!
The first 10 members to arrive will receive special Girls Who Hike giveaways!

Veteran’s Pond Trail-an easy trail at the southwest end of Arkansas City, mostly paved. Great beginner trail. 

Trail Rating: Green/Beginners & Novice hikers welcome
Green means that it is a mellow hike, easy to follow, elevation gain of less than 1000ft.

Kansas - Redbud Trail

This trail looks like a great hiking alternative trail option during our current high tick active times in our area. This is a mostly smooth trail and so it will be great for those beginner hikers too! 
Come join us for a fun, chatty trail morning together!

The first 10 girls to show up who are registered to attend & have signed the waiver, will receive special Girls Who Hike giveaways before the hike starts. 

Since this is an 'Official' GWH meet-up, BE SURE TO SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVER!!! Link is on the event page. Let me know if you need help with it!! It is also in our Group Rules area of the page. You only have to sign it once and you are in for all the future hikes. 

Trail length: about 4-5 miles

Time: We will meet at 10am and begin the hike after introductions & giveaways. Please try to come 15 minutes early for parking and to make sure we all are able to head out together. I will post the trail head map on the event page so you know right where to go.

Insect repellent, ticks and chiggars will possibly be active.

Time: We will meet at the trail head at 11am and begin the hike after introductions & giveaways. Please try to come 15 minutes early for parking and to make sure we all are able to head out together. 

$$$-This trail is free and there are no parking permits. We will Park at the visitor welcome center and need to sign their guestbook for each car. 

Bring: Don't forget your water!!! This is a longer hike and we will pace ourselves over several hours. 
Plan to bring your lunch & snacks to eat on the trail.
