Get your weekend started right with a sunrise hike at Sawnee Mountain Preserve. We will meet at 6 am and start hiking promptly by 6:10 am, with sunrise slated for 6:56 am. We'll hike the “short trail” (approximately .75 miles) up from the Bettis Tribble Gap parking lot and catch sunrise on the namesake “Indian Seat” rock formations. After taking in sunrise and the beautiful morning golden hour, we'll take a longer route back down to the parking lot to get a little extra exercise. Total hike mileage will be around 3.45 miles, with the majority being descent. Please bring a headlamp for the hike up. Trekking poles may also be beneficial for hiking in the dark. Georgia - Pups & Pints

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador Cara Hurlburt-Ebeling. Bring your dog out for a fun meet and greet at Leita Thompson Memorial Park in Roswell! We will let the dogs play for a bit in the enclosed dog park and then hike the wooded trail through the park, which features a stream, lake, and hilly terrain. The dog park has 2 separate sides, for dogs of different weights/sizes. Even if you don't have a dog, we'd love to have you come along! After the hike, we will enjoy a “yappy hour” at Gate City Brewery in historic Roswell. Feel free to have your spouse, partner, and/or kids meet us at the brewery, as it's very dog and family friendly. The brewery opens at 1 pm so we will head that way after the hike. Gate Cityoften has food trucks and there are lots of other restaurants within walking distance. More info on the brewery here:

Georgia - Bartram Trail to Pinnacle Knob

This hike event is led by Ambassadors Rhiannon Bradley and Cara Hurlburt-Ebeling.

Come join Ambassadors Rhiannon Bradley and Cara Hurlburt-Ebeling as they join forces and lead a hike down the Bartram Trail from Warwomen Dell to Pinnacle Knob. We will be meeting at the trailhead at 8:00am and beginning the hike at 8:30am. Please make sure to dress in layers and bring trekking poles and rain gear because the weather in mountains constantly changes!

***IMPORTANT MESSAGE RE-GUARDING PACING: We will be maintaining a pace of 2-2.5. Inorder to ensure that you can manage this pace, I recommend referring to your own pace from previous hikes. If a 5-7 mile hike took 5+ hours, your pace is closer to 1 mph and may not be suited to this hike.

Also in addition to a nurtriet dense snack also plan on bringing a lunch since this is a longer hike. If anyone isnt too worn out from the hike we could head into Clayton for post hike beers at Universal Joint and visit the Wander North Georgia Store.
