Hello ladies! We are heading to the highest point in Arizona for National Summit Day! This hike is dependent on good weather and I will monitor the conditions leading up to the hike.

I recommend hiking boots. I usually ALWAYS hike in trail runners, but there is shale and other rocks that move towards the top and if you need ankle support - this is where you would need it most!

This is a hike that knowing your own personal limits is important. I want everyone who feels they can go all the way to the top - feel free to do so, and those that feel that need to stop - to do so also. This time of year the trail will have a lot of traffic, so if anyone needs to stop you won't be sitting in the forest alone! We can talk more about this closer to the hike! But please feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions! I always recommend that if you are not used to altitude, going the night before will help immensely!

Bring snacks/food/and lots of water (more than you think you need).
This hike isn't a long hike, but the incline is pretty steady all the way to the top. Add in the altitude and you have a fun combination!

Hello ladies! Happy to host an Official Meetup at Fossil Springs! My first time approaching from this direction. But here is the scoop: Easy going down, a bit tough coming up - especially in the heat. Average temp this time of year is around 81ish. Very rocky so wear appropriate footwear for the trail and if you want to get in the water.

This is pre-permit time (literally by a day) so let's hit it up before the masses take over! Bring LOTS of water and snacks, sunscreen, big hat for sun coverage, towel if you are getting in the water.

For those coming from the Valley - happy to figure out carpooling and meet up at Fort McDowell Casino for the trek up. Its about 2.5 hours from the Valley to the Trailhead - so this makes this an ALL DAY venture. Timing will depend on everyone's hiking ability so if you need to be back by a certain time I would not recommend going. Timeframe noted is for hike ONLY - not including travel time. Your accurate RSVP is very important!

Some more info about this hike: This is a strenuous OUT AND BACK hike. The first 2-3 miles is more of a gradual incline but the last 2-2.5 miles to the Thumb are steep with many switchbacks.

I strongly suggest in addition to water that all hikers bring an appropriate amount of snacks as well.

There are several good turnaround points for anyone who feels that can't complete the entire hike.

Looking forward to leading my first GWHAZ of 2019! This is a long hike so please make sure you are reviewing the details and asking questions prior to the hike. The White Tanks describes this as a "Double Black Diamond" which could mean some way finding or a little boulder scrambling.

We will meet at the TRAILHEAD STAGING AREA off of Wildlife Way. Hopefully we can drop a car at the Goat Camp trailhead (off of Black Canyon Road) to decrease the walking distance (more on this when I have confirmed people).

Please bring PLENTY of water and snacks/food as depending on our pace this hike could take upwards of 6 hours. If you have ANY questions, feel free to message me directly!!

Hello ladies! In honor of Arizona Trail Day - AZT in One Day - we will be hiking a 6.7 mile one-way track to South Kaibab Trailhead. This was one of the only open areas when I choose this segment and now has a LOT of other people signed up. We will be hiking a small portion of Passage 37. The logistics are a little interesting, but will discuss those with whoever signs up! The 10 person limit is not me - its the organizers of the event.

LOGISTICS: Since this is a one-way hike, we will have to arrange getting people back to their car at the trailhead. We can talk more about this closer to the hike when I know who is actually attending! But please feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions!

NOTE: For those that have an interest, I have booked 3 campsites at Mather Campground for that day/night. This portion will be UNOFFICIAL and is CO-ED. This may help with logistics - I know it will for me! My thought is to get there, check out the area, see a sunset, wake up and see a sunrise, hike down to Ooh Aah Point , etc. Lots to do at the Canyon!

Bring snacks/food/and lots of water (more than you think you need).
If you want to camp, think about backpacking in with your gear. The camping portion is 'unofficial' so open to others joining.

Hello ladies! In honor of Arizona Trail Day and celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Systems Act we will be hiking an 8.5 mile ONE-WAY track of the AZT from Sandy's Canyon Trailhead to Buffalo Park to join the celebration. The celebration at Buffalo Park starts at 10:00 a.m. and goes until 2:00 p.m. (See event posted on Events Page)

This hike is pretty flat and we calculated the mileage based on several maps, but could be off just a tad. We will be hiking a small portion of Passage 31 (Walnut Canyon) and Passage 33 (Flagstaff) - the latter taking us through the middle of town!

LOGISTICS: Since this is a one-way hike, we will have to arrange getting people back to their car at the trailhead. We can talk more about this closer to the hike when I know who is actually attending! But please feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions!

Bring snacks/food/and lots of water (more than you think you need).

Hello ladies! We are bringing back the highest point in Arizona for National Summit Day!

Bring snacks/food/and lots of water (more than you think you need).
This hike isn't a long hike, but the incline is pretty steady all the way to the top. Add in the altitude and you have a fun combination!

GWH Trail Rating - YELLOW/RED: Moderate to strenuous hike, well-signed, elevation gain of 2,000+, altitude up to 8,916 ft., high altitude.

Hello ladies! Happy to host an Official Meetup for July on O'Leary Peak Trail to the Lookout. O'Leary is the 20th highest peak in Arizona. Although some complain its an unused forest road that takes you to the top, the views are worth it!

We will monitor the conditions leading up to the hike, but fingers crossed this will continued to be open.

Bring snacks/food/and lots of water (more than you think you need).
