Utah - Frary Peak Trail

I will not be handing out punch cards at this event. They’re available through purchase of a New Member Kit only. 

Frary Peak Trail - Frary Peak is the highest point on Antelope Island. It provides outstanding views of the Great Salt Lake, Wasatch Mountains and several other islands. The peak is named for George Frary who was a homesteader on the island from 1890 to 1897.

Trail Rating: YELLOW: Moderate hike, well-signed, elevation gain of between 1,000-2,500ft., low altitude. 
Frary Peak Elevation 6595 ft. There is a bit of rock scrambling at the top. If your not comfortable there’s a nice place at the saddle to stop for a snack and rest as well. 3L of water required.

Time: Meet at trail head @ 9:00 AM – approx 1 hour drive if coming from Salt Lake County 
Trail Distance: 8 miles RT – includes 1/2 mile each way on road if gate is closed. 
Elevation Gain: 2335 Ft
Water Required: 3L

Dogs: No - Too many people going and dogs must be leashed at all times so it’s best to leave them home this time. 
Men: No
Kids: No

To reach Antelope Island head to Syracuse, Utah. Take I-15 to exit 332 (Antelope Drive). Follow the Antelope Island signs and travel west on Antelope Drive for 6.7 miles to the Antelope State Park entrance gate. There is a fee of $10.00 per car to enter the park. 

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

Please make sure you are prepared. Depending on snow , conditions, we may need spikes and/or snowshoes, and layer up. Let us know if you have any questions. See you there!
