Tennessee - Strawberry Plains Hummingbird Festival

Where: Strawberry Plains Audobon Center in Holly Springs, MS, about an hour southeast of Memphis. 

When: Saturday, Sept. 8th. Meet at the Visitor Center by 9:30 am CST. Please be prompt as we will leave no later than 9:40 to walk over to the start of the nature hike. Call me at 423-314-5158 if you are running behind!

Description: Every September, the Strawberry Plains Audobon Center hosts the Hummingbird Migration and Nature Celebration. We will do the guided hike at 10 am. This coed and family friendly hike will be led by the Audobon Center staff and is rated Green on the GWH Trail Rating Scale. Stay after the hike to experience hummingbird banding, presentations on hummingbird research, guided wagon rides, and other cool displays! Water: Please bring at least 2L of water as weather will be hot! No outside food is allowed, but there will be vendors there if you plan to stay for the rest of the festival.

***As with all GWH events, you and any guests including children must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***
