West Virginia - Seneca Rocks Trail

Seneca Rocks Trail
Trail Rating: GREEN: Mellow hike, easy to follow, elevation gain of 1,000 feet or under, low altitude. Novice hikers welcome! 2L of water required.

Meeting Location: Meet at the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center at 8:45 A.M. Hike will begin at 9:00 A.M.
Time: 9:00 A.M.
Distance: 3.2 miles
Elevation Gain: 800 feet

Water Required: 2 Liters

Dogs: Yes – must be on a leash
Permits / Passes: N/A
Trailhead Coordinates / Address: The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center is located along WV-28, Seneca Rocks, WV 26884 at the intersection of Route 33 and Route 55.
Track: We’ll meet at the Discovery Center and walk to the trailhead via the path behind the building. We will ascend to the viewing platform, enjoy the views, then return the same way. Please note that this trail is heavy with switchbacks.

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

To complete this hike, I highly recommend bringing snacks, 2 - 3 L of water, and your 10 essentials.

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We’ll be hiking as a group, and nobody will be left behind or forgotten.
