Michigan - Sleepy Hollow State Park

This hike is hosted by Girls Who Hike Ambassador Denise Dawson! The first 10 participants to arrive will receive a special Girls Who Hike giveaway!
Sleepy Hollow State Park contains over 2,600 acres including a river winding its way through the woods, fields and trails. Lake Ovid nestled in the middle of it all was developed by damming the Little Maple River and covers 410-acres. Trails that take you through prairie grasses, hardwood forest and stands of pine trees: 16 miles of hiking/biking, and 6.5 miles for horseback riding and dog sledding. Elevation gain: estimated 282 ft. depending on trail choosen. 
Distance: 3-6 miles. There are many trails and loops to choose from. A final decision will be posted prior to the hike.

Dogs: Yes, must be on a leash.

What to bring: water and snacks! This isn't a long hike, but please plan to bring water and snacks. 

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We'll be hiking as a group and nobody will be left behind.

*Make sure you have a Recreation Passport sticker on your license plate or you can pay the daily fee to enter the park.
