California Inland Empire - Kayaking on Big Bear Lake

This event is led by GWH Ambassador Sarah Carter!
The first 10 members to arrive will receive special Girls Who Hike giveaways!

I thought since the weather is normally scorching in July, we could change it up and do some kayaking instead of hiking for this month's official meet up! We will rent kayaks and paddle for 2 hours, then we can eat a packed lunch, and if anyone wants to, swim/lay out by the beach. Details below.

- Kayaking in Big Bear Lake -
Date: Sunday, July 22, 2018
Time: 9:30am
Address: 39166 Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear Lake, California USA 92315
Price: $35 for 2 hour rental on a single person kayak via you have your own kayak, a one-day permit is $20. Note: Do not reserve your kayak yet, I want to see how much interest this event receives, and if we have enough people, we may be able to a group discount.
Eventbrite: (PW is GWHIE)
Dogs: Small dogs can fit on kayaks. Just make sure they have a life jacket & get along with other dogs!
Kids: No.
Men: No.

What to bring:
- Packed lunch/snacks/drinks (keep in cooler in your car). We can have a picnic in Boulder Bay park after kayaking.
- If you want to enjoy beach time after, bring towel, beach chair, floaties, etc.

What should I wear?:
There is no dress code, it's all about your comfort. Some people prefer to wear bathing suits on the kayaks, while others prefer to wear their normal clothes. Wear whatever you will be most comfortable in, just know there is a chance you will get wet!

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

Any updates will be posted on the event thread via the pinned post, and I’ll update the event description if anything changes!
