Hi ladies! Now that the snow is melting it's the perfect time for one of the best day hikes near Anchorage: Crow Pass to Raven Glacier. The Crow Pass Trail is a 23 mile trail from Girdwood to Eagle River but we are going to hike only a portion of the long trail. We will start in Girdwood and hike up to the top of Crow Pass. Once you reach the top of the pass you also get close up views of Raven Glacier. After reaching the top of the pass we'll come back down to Girdwood. Prepare for awesome views of the pass, the glacier, and potentially some wildlife too!

Considerations for this hike: Please bring enough water, food, and layers of clothing for all kinds of weather. Bear spray (or other bear deterrents) is highly encouraged. Dogs are welcome. We will have to cross a creek at the base of a waterfall so either wear waterproof hiking boots or shoes you do not mind getting wet (I have hiked it in non-waterproof shoes and they dried out quickly but wanted to give a warning to anyone who might be concerned about this).

NOTE: this trailhead is an hour from Anchorage, so we will have a carpool post the week of the hike so people can find rides.

Directions: From Anchorage, head south on the New Seward Highway, past city limits, for about 45 minutes, until the city of Girdwood is reached. You will see a large gas station; turn left, and follow this road for about 2 miles. As soon as the road begins to curve right, look for Crow Creek Road on your left and turn. This will eventually be a gravel road. Follow the signs for Crow Pass Trail until you reach the parking lot.
