Louisiana - Clark Creek Natural Area

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador Tara Lusignan

Trail: Clark Creek Natural Area hike- improved & rock bed trail. We will not be hiking the primitive trail.
Trail Rating: YELLOW: Moderate hike, well-signed, gravel road hike with occasional rock bed sections. Small elevation gain. Heat will be a factor, please bring plenty of water and a few snacks.

Date: July 14, 2018
Time: 9:00 am

Distance: 3-4 miles

Trailhead Coordinates / Address: 366 Fort Adams Road, Woodville, MS 39669;

Permits / Passes: $4.00 per car. Permits are available at the trail head, located behind the bathrooms. Cash or Check only, this station is not manned.

We will stay on the improved trail (wide gravel walking path) for this hike, but will venture into the rock beds to view the additional waterfalls. There are some places where your feet can get wet and you will have to step on/over rocks. If you do not want to partake in this, there is the option to wait on the main trail as we will be returning to the same location. There are hills along this trail, but can also be taken at a relaxed pace.

PLEASE bring shoes with a good non-slip grip and do not wear broken or torn shoes.

As all us locals know, it will be HOT so be prepared and bring plenty of water. It is also a good idea to pack a towel a small towel as there are water holes to cool off in.

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

Any updates will be posted on the event thread via the pinned post, and I’ll update the event description if anything changes! If you are bringing a +1, please let me know.
