Georgia - Hemlock Falls

Hi everyone! This is a rescheduled event from May 19th. I’m honoring the previous Eventbrite tickets and I have contacted previous attendees via email and requested they let me know their status for attending. As a result I have a couple of spots open. Also, please note a change to being a kid friendly event. You will only need 1 ticket, but I would appreciate your letting me know if you plan to bring kiddos.

We will explore Hemlock Falls near Moccasin Creek State Park at Lake Burton. We will depart from the parking lot at Moccasin Creek State Park at 10 a.m. The first 10 members to arrive will receive special Girls Who Hike giveaways!

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. As it is my first meetup, expect this to be a relaxed saunter through the woods. We will take our time and enjoy the journey along Moccasin Creek. Our Girls Who Hike group have many differently paced hikers that come to our meet-ups. Our meet ups are a no judgement zone and we are here to encourage as well as motivate each other along the trail.

Preparing for the hike: make sure to eat breakfast and hydrate, wear comfortable layers, supportive tennis shoes or hiking boots with good tread, trekking poles as needed, rain gear, at least a liter of water, a hiking snack, and your 10 essentials (first aid kit) Any questions or concerns please feel free to ask in the comments below.

**In order to attend an official meetup all participating hike attendees MUST sign the liability waiver found below. You only need to sign once to be cleared for all GWH meetups.

Any updates will be posted on the event thread, and I’ll update the event description if anything changes.
