PCT to Devil's Hole and Aztec Falls Swimming Hole
Date: June 9th
Time: 8:00 AM
Distance: 6 Miles
EG: 400-600 feet
Location: Splinter's Cabin Day Use Area, Crab Flats, Green Valley Lake, CA 92341
Permits / Passes: Eventbrite required, Adventure Pass required
AllTrails Track: Aztec Falls portion:
Devil's Hole portion (sort of)
Dogs: I'm saying no for this one just because the trail can be narrow at times, and it's sun exposed & also I'm not sure if doggos will be able to make it down the steep path to the swimming hole. So while I love dogs, I think they should stay home for this one for their safety.
Kids: No
Men: No

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

The plan is, we will start at Splinter's Cabin Day Use Area, and hike the PCT to Devil's Hole. This is an out and back. On the way back, about a mile from the trailhead we pass by Aztec Falls swimming hole, so we can do a side trip down to the swimming hole, take a dip and cool off for a bit before we head back to our cars.

PARKING: The road to get to Splinter's Cabin trailhead is a bit rough, I recommend a higher clearance vehicle like an SUV. Hopefully people can carpool. If we run into a situation where people aren't going to be able to get to the trailhead, we can park a little further up, and get in each other's cars to make it the rest of the way. I have a Kia Sportage and it makes it to the trailhead without problems. Adventure Pass is needed to park.

To complete this hike, I highly recommend bringing electrolytes, snacks, at least 3 L of water, and your 10 essentials. I recommend hiking boots with traction, because going down to the falls is steep. This trail is sun exposed, so lots of water and sunscreen! ALSO bring your swim suit & towel if you want to take a dip in the Aztec Falls swimming hole!

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We’ll be hiking as a group, and nobody will be left behind or forgotten.

Any updates will be posted on the event thread via the pinned post, and I'll update the event description if anything changes!
