Texas - Barton Creek Greenbelt Thru-Hike

This event is led by GWH Ambassador Kate Lanagan. The first ten members to arrive will receive special GWH giveaways!

You've probably hiked a portion of the Greenbelt before... but have you ever seen the whole darn thing? We'll meet at 2201 Barton Springs Rd, will park half of the cars there, and will shuttle out to begin the hike at the far end ("Hill of Life" trailhead: 1710 Camp Craft Road). Volunteers to drive needed! Actual hike likely to begin closer to 9:30am.

Trail Rating: This is a yellow hike on the GWH scale – It is over 7 miles, and has unmarked trails, may not have signage, but is also fairly flat and nearly impossible to get lost. Wear good shoes for rocky trails and possible water crossings!

Date: May 12th
Time: 9:00 AM
Distance: 7-9 Miles depending on actual route (determined by whether water is flowing at the time)
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Men: No

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

To complete this hike, I highly recommend bringing electrolytes, snacks, at least 2 L of water, and your 10 essentials.

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We’ll be hiking as a group, and nobody will be left behind or forgotten.

Any updates will be posted on the event thread via the pinned post, and I'll update the event description if anything changes!
