Idaho - Jump Creek and Old Man of the Owyhees

This hike is being hosted by GWHID Ambassador Becky Jergenson.

INTERMEDIATE HIKE approx. 4 miles roundtrip depending on how far everyone wants to explore. This hike is NOT for everyone and can be challenging for some.

Elevation total ascent: 1,279 feet, descent is 1,294 feet
Min Elev: 2,691 feet. Max Elev: 3,336 feet

Parts of the canyon may have short areas of water that we will have to maneuver over/around. We also will encounter parts where the trail is not clear, where the terrain is challenging (i.e., scrambling over rock obstacles, using hands for balance, being on loose rocks), and steep valley sides, etc. We may also encounter ticks and/or poison ivy. This will be a grand adventure with a great reward! The ever-mysterious "Old Man of the Owyhees".

Trekking poles are HIGHLY recommended, as are long pants, upper body layers, plenty of water, lunch/water, snacks, camera, etc.

Women only. No dogs.
