West Virginia - Blackwater Falls

I will not be handing out punch cards at this event. They’re available through purchase of a New Member Kit only. 

Blackwater Falls Boardwalk Trail & Balanced Rock Trail
Trail Rating: GREEN: Mellow hike, easy to follow, elevation gain of 1,000ft. and under, low altitude. Novice hikers welcome! 2L of water required.

Date: December 16, 2018
Time: 11:00 A.M.
Meeting Location: Meet in the parking area outside the Trading Post near the Blackwater Falls Boardwalk Trail at 10:45 A.M. Hike will begin at 11:00 A.M. sharp. 
Distance: 2.8 miles combined
Elevation Gain: 131 feet and 351 feet respectively

Water Required: 2 Liters

Dogs: Yes – must be on a leash. Please note dogs are not permitted at the brewery.

Stumptown Ales: 390 William Avenue, Davis WV 26260

Track: We’ll meet in the Trading Post parking lot near the Blackwater Falls Boardwalk trail. We will walk to the platform to view the falls (1/2 mile out and back). Afterwards we will drive to the Balanced Rock Trailhead (near cabin #13) and complete this 2.3 mile out and back trail. The fun continues after the hike with a trip to Stumptown Ales.

***As with all GWH events, you must sign the GWH waiver before attending – it takes less than a minute to sign, and once you’ve signed it once you’re good to go for all future meetups***

To complete this hike, I highly recommend bringing snacks, 2 L of water, and your 10 essentials.

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We’ll be hiking as a group, and nobody will be left behind or forgotten.

Stumptown Ales does not always serve food. You may bring in outside food. There are a few restaurants nearby. Dogs are not permitted in the brewery.
