West Virginia - Valley Falls

Valley Falls Loop Trail
Trail Rating: GREEN: Mellow hike, easy to follow, elevation gain of 1,000ft. and under, low altitude. Novice hikers welcome! 2L of water required.

Date: October 14, 2018
Time: 9:00 A.M.
Meeting Location: Meet at the Valley Falls Picnic area parking lot at 8:45 A.M. Hike will begin at 9:00 A.M. sharp.
Distance: 3.9 – 5.8 miles
Elevation Gain: 711 – 863 feet

Water Required: 2 – 3 Liters

Dogs: Yes – must be on a leash

Trailhead Coordinates / Address: 720 Valley Falls Road, Fairmont, WV 26554

Track: We’ll meet at the picnic area parking lot. We will follow the Rhododendron Trail to the Rocky Trail to the Wild Turkey Trail, follow the park road for a bit, pick up the Red Cardinal Trail, and make our way back to the falls. We can picnic at the falls after the hike, weather permitting.

To complete this hike, I highly recommend bringing snacks, 2 - 3 L of water, and your 10 essentials.

This hike is open to hikers of all skill levels. We’ll be hiking as a group, and nobody will be left behind or forgotten.
