Georgia - Pups & Pints

This Hike is led by GWH Ambassador Cara Hurlburt-Ebeling. Bring your dog out for a fun meet and greet at Leita Thompson Memorial Park in Roswell! The dog park has 2 separate sides, for dogs of different weights/sizes. Even if you don't have a dog, we'd love to have you come along! After the hike, we will enjoy a “yappy hour” at Gate City Brewery in historic Roswell. Feel free to have your spouse, partner, and/or kids meet us at the brewery, as it's very dog and family friendly. The brewery opens at 1 pm so we will head that way after the hike. Florida - Miccosukee Greenway

This hike is led by GWH Ambassador Sally Uptagrafft!

The Miccosukee Greenway trail is a natural oasis with an urban landscape and offers diverse terrain that is good for all skill levels.
From flat and open to hilly, wooded and twisty, this trail cuts through groves of hardwood and pine with intermittent pastures which offer a change of scenery. While the trail is a beautiful, quick escape right in the middle of Tallahassee, it is also a living historical and archaelogical exhibit. The trail sits on land preserved from old plantations, and initially provided pasture for cattle as well as grounds for quail hunting.

We will do a 6-mile out and back hike starting at the Fleishmann Road trailhead. We'll go all the way to the Thornton Road trailhead and head back.

Hey ladies!! May can be a busy month, join us for a mid-week stroll through the woods and wetlands of Glacier Ridge! Fingers crossed the prairie will have some beautiful spring flowers for us! The goal is to reach the observation tower just before sunset! These trails are paved/boardwalk, so this is a GREEN hike! Dogs are welcome to join! Please meet at the parking lot CLOSEST to the dog park.

This hike is open to all skill levels, and as always, our meetups are a no-judgement zone. We are here to encourage as well as motivate each other along the trail. This means NO ONE is left behind!

>>>>>Preparing for the hike: make sure to eat dinner or a snack first, and hydrate! Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes or hiking shoes, at least 2L of water, and a first aid kit! Remember to bring a jacket, it may be chilly once the sun goes down. Headlamps/Flashlights are encouraged!

Please remember to dress appropriately! It’s spring in Ohio, so prepare for all four seasons at once! Layers are the best way to dress so you don't overheat! Check out this great blog post from REI about dressing for colder weather! https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/layering-basics.html
